Echoes of Evil by Heather Graham

Image
Echoes of Evil winds up the current storyline about the McFadden brothers in Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunter series. Brodie, the youngest brother, is the featured player. There's not much interplay with the FBI this time, but there's no doubt that the youngest brother, who can see and talk with ghosts, will end up with the Krewe of Hunters. Brodie McFadden is actually on vacation in Key West, diving on the historical wreck of a British slave ship, when he finds a body. It's a recent corpse, though, not a body from two hundred years earlier. Because of an earlier connection, working a case with Liam Beckett of the Key West police force, Brodie is brought in to the case. He's also interested when a musician dies while performing at a bar. Is there a connection between the two dead men? Dakota (Kody) McCoy isn't the one who discovers the link, but it's her Key West museum, the Haunts and History Museum, that links the two dead men. Cliff Bullard, the dead mus...

Pale as Death by Heather Graham

Image
I can always count on Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters books to allow me to escape. Pale as Death , with its connection to a mysterious historical murder, is a fascinating romantic suspense novel. When Detective Sophie Manning and her partner Grant Vining respond to a crime scene in Hollywood, they know it will be an unusual one. Their team tends to handle the vicious and strange cases. But, this one, with a woman's body drained of blood, and dismembered, resembles one of the most famous unsolved murders in Hollywood, the Black Dahlia case. Elizabeth Short was brutally murdered and dismembered. Now, someone has killed a young actress who resembles Elizabeth Short, and the killing resembles the earlier death as well. It's Sophie herself, though, that catches the attention of the McFadden family. She's the spokesperson for the case, and Bryan McFadden and his fiancé, Marnie, worked with Sophie when Marnie was threatened. Now, Bryan is preparing to attend training at Quan...

Fade to Black by Heather Graham

Image
This time, I have in my possession all three books in Heather Graham's latest Krewe of Hunters trilogy. This series features three brothers, Bryan, Bruce, and Brodie McFadden, and the women they grow to love in the course of a paranormal crime investigation. Fade to Black , the first in the series, features the oldest brother, Bryan McFadden. Fade to Black opens in dramatic style. The cast of a popular older show, now in syndication, Dark Harbor , is participating in a Comic Con in West Hollywood. Four of the five stars desperately need the convention appearances. Marnie Davante, who had been the show's star, has moved on. Her true love is theater, but she appears at the conventions to help her former co-workers. But, Marnie's appearance doesn't exactly help this time when someone dressed as a popular comic villain confronts Marnie and slices her former TV mother, Cara Barton, to death. How does Bryan McFadden become involved in an LA case, when he's based in Virgi...

Wicked Deeds by Heather Graham

Image
I can always count on one of Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters suspense novels to drag me back into reading. I should just stockpile the books so that I know I have something I'll always want to read. I'm a little behind, but it doesn't matter. Wicked Deeds is one of my favorites in the ongoing series. Special Agent Griffin Pryce and historian/writer Vickie Preston are meandering their way to Alexandria, Virginia. They have a little time before Vickie reports to Quantico for training. She's going to join the FBI, and then the elite team of agents who make up the Krewe of Hunters. The agents all have some sort of paranormal abilities, to see or connect with the dead, and they use those abilities in solving crimes. Vickie has already been involved in several cases. In the first, as a teenage babysitter, she was saved by the ghost of the older brother of the boy she was babysitting. He sent her straight to a young cop named Griffin Pryce. Nine years later, she's b...
